Immigration Law

Visa Applications

As the UK finds its place in the world in the post-Brexit era, UK immigration law is undergoing rapid changes. The UK, like many other developed countries, requires a steady stream of migrants for various sectors of the economy. UK immigration in the post-Brexit era has a different manifestation.

London is a vibrant, multiracial and multicultural city. It is believed that around 37% of people living in London were born outside the UK. Being a solicitors’ firm in Tower Hamlets, immigration law has always been an important element of our business. Our clients instruct us in a wide variety of immigration cases, including applications for:

• British citizenship;
• entry clearance to the UK;
• spouse visas;
• student visas;
• visitor visas;
• settlement visas;
• sponsorship licences under the PBS;
• business and work visas under Tiers 1 and 2; and
• human rights related claims
(e.g. for long residence and family life).

Immigration Appeals

It is a fact that the UK Visas and Immigration department do not grant every visa application, and sadly, many applications do get refused. When a visa application is refused, we also act for our clients in their appeals against such refusals, subject to our candid assessment of the merits. We have extensive experience of representing clients with immigration appeals in the tribunals.

In addition, we act in judicial review cases involving immigration matters where such cases have adequate merits. At Amanah Solicitors, we sincerely advise our clients against advancing unmeritorious cases and vigorously weed out such cases from the outset. Yet, in cases with proper merits, we passionately fight for our clients’ appeals and seek to achieve positive results.

At Amanah Solicitors we provide candid advice so that our clients are given an accurate appraisal of the merits of their immigration cases at every stage. We generally agree fixed fees for immigration applications and appeals, although some cases might require bespoke fee structures. You will find our legal fees here.
