Divorce

Divorce can be distressing and complicated. But having the right legal team by your side can make the divorce process easier. We support our clients through the stresses of divorce. Our family law solicitors have experience in divorce matters and can navigate clients through the challenging journey of divorce. We provide our clients the necessary guidance they need so that they can make those difficult decisions in ways that are right for them.

Financial Settlements

Money and assets are often closely connected with divorce. Our experienced family law solicitors will help you to make informed decisions about your financial security. We work with accountants and financial advisers and provide tailored advice relating to financial settlements.

Child Arrangements

Arranging child contact following a divorce or separation can be a very emotional journey. Our family law solicitors can help parents resolve their issues as amicably as possible. We appreciate the importance of mediation and coming to an agreement without going to court. However, our family law solicitors can assist clients through the court process, if mediation fails, whilst always keeping the children’s best interests in mind.

Domestic Violence

Domestic violence includes physical and emotional abuse in family relationships. If you are a victim of domestic violence and require urgent legal support, our family law solicitors can help you. We can help you to obtain the necessary court orders to protect you and ensure your safety.

Non-molestation orders and Occupation orders

A non-molestation order will protect you by preventing further abuse from an abusive partner or relative. Harassment does not have to be physical abuse and can manifest itself in different ways, such as mental, emotional or verbal abuse. It is a criminal offence to breach a non-molestation order and the offending party may be arrested and sent to custody.

In most cases, the victim and abuser live together, and thus, a non-molestation order by itself may not be enough to protect you. Under these circumstances, non-molestation orders are often coupled with Occupation orders, which prevent the abuser from living in the home of the victim and coming within a certain distance of your home.

Pre-nuptial agreements

We appreciate that some clients require a certain level of protection vis-à-vis their assets for peace of mind. A pre-nuptial agreement is a formal written agreement between two partners prior to their marriage. The purpose of the agreement is to document what will happen to the parties’ assets, if their marriage comes to an end. Our family law solicitors are experienced in drafting pre-nuptial agreements and will advise you on all aspects of the agreement.
